Company History:
It all began in 1969, when James Martin Woelfle had a vision.  A vision of a successful auto body shop.  It was then he started his own business called J.M.W. Automotive Inc.  It started out as a general auto body shop, but as the years passed Jim’s vision became clear and in 1980 J.M.W. Automotive Inc, the 4x4 specialist was born.  With hard work, dedication and skill Jim and his wife Pat they expanded the business at an amazing rate.  As their children finished school they too came to contribute their skills Tammy, the oldest daughter, helps the business by being one of the top sales persons as well as general manager for the Kitchener location.  Jamie their eldest son is one of our transmission builders and shop supervisor.  Kelly, the youngest daughter is an office administrator for our second location, Team JMW.  And last but certainly not last is Chad, the youngest of the bunch, who gives his knowledge in an all over capacity at Team JMW.  Our second location Team JMW was born in 1998, when after several property acquisitions we ran out of room to grow in Kitchener that our Listowel location came about.  The Listowel location was an auto recycling facility built and ran by Pat’s father, Clarence Loge and was purchased by JMW.  The acquisition of Logel’s Enterprises was a pleasing way to expand JMW and keep the Listowel yard in the family. This brings us to the present.

About JMW:
What is a 4x4 specialist?  Essentially we strive to have the best and most up to date knowledge to help you ensure your 4x4 is running top notch.  We also strive to have the largest on the shelf rebuilt transmission stock in Ontario.  We are a facility that is completely outfitted to rebuild a full drive train less the motor for your 4x4 or 4x2 trucks.  We rebuild a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicle parts.  We have fully equipped shops for dismantling, transmission and transfer case rebuilding, as well as rear and front differentials, axle shafts and driveshafts.  All of our shops have experienced mechanics and rebuilds as we do all of our rebuilding right on the premises.

What is an Automotive Recycler? Essentially that is where we as a business started out.  Once we were referred to a Scrap Yards or Junk Yards.  When global pollution and other serious environmental concerns became a world wide topic, it made the Automotive Industry sit up and take notice.  Hence the Automotive Recycler was born.  The three “R’s” were posted everywhere—Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.  We were already well on our way to being Automotive Recyclers we just needed a little fine tuning.  Automotive Recyclers came together and formed several associations such as the A.R.A. (Automotive Recyclers Association), S.O.A.R. (Southern Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association), and O.A.R.A. (Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association) to name a few.  Together we looked at what our responsibilities were to the environment and its population, and set goals on how to accomplish them.  We have come a long way but it will continue to be a work in progress as the goals and responsibilities change and grow.
